Boonville Beer Festival
Chiggrul
Gormin! Get Boont at the Boonville Beer Fest
BOONVILLE—Put down your wine glass—just this once, mind you—and
raise a beer stein to what's been called the bahlest steinber
hornin', chiggrul gormin', tidrick in the heelch of the Boont
Region. Roughly translated from the local dialect, it means head
for the tap, folks, cause its party time in Boonville.
On May 6, the Anderson Brewing Company hosts its 10th annual
Boonville Beer Festival, featuring more than 50 breweries from
around California and the Northwest—yes, folks that's a lot of
beer. Among those on the list: Healdsburg's Bear Republic, Sierra
Nevada, Portland's Widmer Brewing, and Third Street Ale works
from Santa Rosa.
Tickets for the event are $30 per person, which includes all
the tastes you can manage between 1 and 5 p.m. The event is usually
packed, so expect to spend a good part of that time chatting
with your fellow brew-fans and waiting at the tap for a few sips
of golden ale.
